You get the docking speaker, a very beautiful for transport, a 18 "long cable, 3.5 mm, if you want to connect up to something other than an iPhone / iPod and an AC adapter with a nice long rope. It can also use 4 AA batteries The housing has a piggy-back if you can use to keep the A / C adapter, or leave it off to travel light if you are just using the batteries, a nice touch .. The battery compartment is a little 'awkward to use, but not too difficult. A tip-out position that holds to a good angle. I connected to my PC via the 3.5 mm cable, and tried the bass boost feature, which worked fine. The unit has its own volume control so you can easily optimize the listening level. These controls and on / off switch are recessed, giving a clean look, but that makes it a little 'difficult to operate the slide switches. I compared the sound of some PC speakers, and what a difference! These were much better, without tinniness, just beautiful, rich sound. And the bass boost works well. The manufacturer claims 8 hours of playback time with battery. So far, it seems to be a good estimate. There is a small light behind the power grid that lights up when speaker is active, which is nice, but already has reminded me once that I forgot to turn it off!
