It 'still used every day and works great.
It 'a question that we have encountered, the load of AA batteries is a bit' bulky. Reason that the bow springs are extremely thin and makes it very difficult to replace the batteries in the DS3000 Fidelio invite speakers / docking station.
Other then this question is still my favorite and best sounding compact iPod speaker / dock!

After listening to numerous speakers iPod/MP3 docking I had very low expectations for the DS3000 Fidelio. The speakers were other metal, free from any kind of mid-bass, and were just terrible. But this is absolutely not the case with this baby!
dirt simple setup (a lot easier the convolution of "easy to remember" speakers out there). I pulled out of the box, connected the AC adapter (it can run on batteries), the set of base 5G iPod Nano, press play, and I was away! No spacers or other pieces of plastic into / through the iPod dock for iPod or iPhone to enter the number to get fit!
The integrated backlit volume knob on the unit is a nice touch, as several other units does not have an external volume control.
A USB port lets you connect to your computer so you can sync your iPod with your computer. During a private entrance allows the use of any MP3 player or CD.
The audio quality that reproduces this beauty is truly amazing. It is not metal cable or not. Medium-low and low frequencies are present. And the shape of the "system" did a great job at filling a room with a moderately large, clear sound.
A docking station for charging and your iPod or iPhone and a speaker system for your MP3 player or another. Slim, stylish and extremely functional!
